Welcome to Moonstonetiels Aviary. We are a small private
aviary located on the southwest coast of Florida. We have
recently merged  with NJM Cockatiels.  They began working
with Dominant Silvers in 2002.  The goal was to breed larger,
healthier birds without loosing the silver's traits.  NJM
Cockatiels  is now semi retired from breeding.  We will be
working closely with NJM's Nancy Johnson for guidance and
overall support to continue their line of Dominant Silver
cockatiels.  We look forward to the future of this mutation.
Follow the link                                to view the beautiful,
professional quality photos of these tiels that have joined our
flock.

Our other  mutations consist of pearl, pied, cinnamon, lutino,
whiteface, normal grey and several rares. Recessive Silver
(Ashen Fallow),Fallow (Bronze Fallow), PF, Emerald,
Goldcheek, and Dominant Yellowface or DYC.

Several of our tiels are pictured on Linda Rubin's Cockatiel
Mutations site, see our links page. We have  contributed
photos to ABK Publications of Australia. These photos are
included in the new revised edition of A Guide To Cockatiels
and their Mutations as Pet and Aviary Birds. Our photos are
also featured in the June-July 2007 issue of Australian
Birdkeeper. Below is the cover and link to their site to order
your copy now. The first edition was great and this one is
even better. I highly recommend this book, the information it
contains will be a valuable tool for us to use in our breeding
programs.

With the help of fellow breeders, I have added descriptions
and photos of the rare cockatiel mutations.  I hope this serves
as a guide  for those interested in breeding these mutations.

I am also a proud member of the Cockatiel Foundation, a new
group dedicated to the cockatiel.  I urge you to join.   New
and exciting opportunities are in the the works,  from the
experienced exhibitioner to the  pet owner.  There is
something for everyone.

Thank you for visiting my site. Be sure to check out the link
to the Top Listed Bird Breeder Site and check other great bird
websites.  Hope to see you soon.
